From Jay on Bye Felicia: Sarah Sanders asked to leave restaurant

Of course there has been a mass backlash of Republicans, Drumpsters and Huckaboneheads against The Red Hen restaurant. The funny part is they don’t care if they harass the right Red Hen. Check out this article; “‘Liberal trash’: Ontario eatery the victim of online backlash from Sarah Sanders supporters | CTV News“.

Also, I read this headline; “Remembering when a baker turned away Joe Biden and received praise from conservatives” and to be honest, I do not ever remember hearing about that.

This just goes to show that “they” just don’t get it and “they” need to be taught a lesson. GET OUT AND VOTE. Oh and listen to Auntie Maxine!

From Jay on Premiering What's the Skinny

So here is another article I came across this morning that speaks a little bit (or maybe a lot bit) to the struggle I am having with the Michelle Obama quote “they go low, we go high.”

This article hits the nail on the head, in my opinion, that the true point is being missed. Pay attention to the “kick the homeless man in the ribs” part.

It also speaks to the question I have, or maybe it isn’t a question but more so a not quite fully developed thought…

What happens when you take the high road and those you oppose, who are on the low road, don’t understand what you are saying?

Maybe we need to speak the “language” that they understand? Even though that scares me to say. I have fears of descending into chaos.

  • From Vera Charles on Who Should Get to Play the Role

I (I am an actor) don’t need to have killed someone to play a murderer.

From Jay on Who Should Get to Play the Role

True but all it takes is one dry failed meatloaf (heart shaped) and who knows what other kinds of murder one is capable of.

Kidding aside…a white or Asian person would never be cast as Nelson Mandella so….

There’s a very successful actor that is straight, currently on TV, that plays gay and in a relationship. When asked how he preps for the role…he says he thinks of his mother….

I’m not sure that sits right with me…

  • From Ed_Gong on Who Should Get to Play the Role

It’s an acting job. Let the most convincing actor play the role.

That said, if the actor comes with some pre-existing baggage that negatively distracts from the role, then clearly it may be detrimental to the piece (movie, play, tv show, etc…) and casting should take that into consideration.
